16th EFDN Conference officially opened!

The 16th Edition of the EFDN Conference, this time with ‘Purpose & Sustainability’ as the theme, has been officially opened on Monday evening, November 8th, at the historic town hall of Breda, the Netherlands. EFDN Conferences are the largest gatherings of Community and Social Responsibility (CSR) experts in European professional football. After two online-events, the international network members could finally meet each other again in person, although the conference remains a hybrid event, with also online participants.

CEO Hubert Rovers was happy to welcome all the members in EFDN’s hometown Breda. He thanked Deputy Mayor Daan Quaars for the support and cooperation with the City of Breda. While the Deputy Mayor himself encouraged the delegations of the different football organisation to continue sharing their knowledge to keep football accessible for everyone.

Earlier that afternoon the EFDN members, a growing number of 136 European football clubs, FA’s and leagues, gathered in the Rat Verlegh Stadium of NAC Breda for the General Assembly, in which EFDN CEO Hubert Rovers gave an overview of 2021, and announced the budget, programmes, campaigns and activities for 2022. The plans and reports were unanimously approved by the presented EFDN members.

Participants at the 16th EFDN Conference will discuss challenges occasioned by COVID-19 and share best practices on CSR strategies, fundraising, sustainability, women’s football, anti-discrimination, social inclusion, online safeguarding, physical activity and STEM education. Expert panels and intriguing presentations will provide insights into current trends in CSR in European Football. Conference delegates will be inspired with ideas for new initiatives and useful tools to deliver community programmes after the end of the pandemic. Participants can use the conference as a platform for personal growth, create new partnerships and stay up-to-date with EFDN activities.
