Barça Foundation’s Maria Vallés to Speak at 14th EFDN Conference

The European Football for Development Network (EFDN) is this year holding its first virtual conference. Between 9 and 11 November, the largest gathering of Community and Social Responsibility (CSR) experts in European football will congregate online as more than 90 clubs, leagues and FAs from the comfort of their foundation offices and homes.

Maria Vallés, General Manager of Barça Foundation will present on their work relating to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the virtual conference.

MARIA VALLÉS – BARÇA FOUNDATION

Maria Vallés has been the General Manager of Barça Foundation since May 2016. From 2012 to 2016, she was the Director of Corporate Development at the Vicente Ferrer Foundation and member of the Board of Directors at Doctors Without Borders Spain. With over 20 years’ experience in the non-profit sector, she has held national positions as head of Communication and Advocacy at ISGlobal (Pedro Alonso), Executive Manager of the AIDS and Society Foundation and Head of Fundraising and Communication in Doctors Without Borders. She has also coordinated various programmes in the field of humanitarian aid and Development in Africa (Kenya) and Latin America (Guatemala). She has a Master in Cooperation and Development and Diploma in Culture of Peace and Conflict Management. She originally trained in International Management and Foreign Trade in Paris. Maria is interested in management of non-profit organisations, strategic planning and development, communication and advocacy, fundraising, project management and organisational leadership.

Sport is one of the tools to reach sustainable human development. Sport can thus contribute to improve, among other objectives, health, education, social inclusions and empowerment of children and youth.
Barça Foundation is using sport as a tool for change for more than 25 years now, to foster the positive development of the most vulnerable children and youth.
Barça Foundation programs and partnerships have contributed to improving the quality of life of more than 1,5 million girls and boys in more than 50 countries. The organization has aligned its work to the Sustainable Development Goals and has designed its strategy to contribute to these objectives.
