Olympique Lyonnais & CSR : Commitment, Solidarity and Responsibility

Maelle has been working in the field of CSR for the past 10 years, after graduating from Paris’ Engineering School of Agronomy. After several years as an LCA (life-cycle assessment) analyst and CSR auditor, she joined the Olympique Lyonnais CSR department with two main objectives: as Head of OL Foundation to lead the strategy of OL Foundation and as CSR expert to roll out and manage a new CSR action plan for OL Group. It enables her to collaborate with all the departments of the club, including professional male and female players, and to build a global project that also stimulates business.

Olympique Lyonnais got engaged in CSR a long time ago. This commitment has driven our long-term missions towards:

  • the development of women’s football as a vector to promote equality in sports and society
  • a responsible football Academy, with a 3-part programme combining sports, education and citizenship
  • solidarity with the local associations to support communities in areas like Health, Education, Employment or Disability.

Our CSR strategy has taken on a new dimension with our 100% privately-fund “Groupama Stadium” delivered in 2016, adding new responsibilities regarding environmental impacts, local economic development and relations with communities.
