Complete 13th EFDN ‘CSR IN EUROPEAN FOOTBALL’ Conference Programme

Simon Taylor – Chelsea FC

Simon is Head of Chelsea Foundation, one of the leading community organisations in sport. He is a graduate of Newcastle University with almost 20 years’ experience of the football industry. After leaving the Football Foundation Charity, Simon joined Chelsea in 2005 and helped create and establish the Chelsea Foundation in 2010. Simon will deliver a speech to open the conference, and will also give a breakout session on the ‘Say No To Antisemitism’ project. Read more here


Jon Vazquez-Eguzkisa & Galder Reguera – Athletic Club

Jon and Galder will present Athletic Club Foundation’s Cultural Project which is a cultural program in the city of Bilbao, with a film festival, a literature festival and a poet duel. Jon, a former semi-professional footballer is Director of the Athletic Club Foundation having just been appointed in February of this year. Galder, meanwhile is responsible for the activities of Athletic Club Foundation. He has a degree in Philosophy and is also a football writer, having had 3 books published.  Read more here


Karin Heri – Malmö FF

Karin is Head of Malmö FF in the community where amongst other activities, she is particularly involved in tackling unemployment and racism. She is also National Coordinator for employability at the Swedish Professional Football League. Karin will present the Careeracademy programme of Malmö FF in the community, a collaboration which started in 2013 between the member-owned Swedish Professional Football League and the Public Employment Service. Read more here


Britt Boeskov – Kindred Group

Britt joined the Kindred Group as a Management Trainee in 2005 and joined the Group’s executive management team in 2008, first as Head of Marcom Services, then in 2009 as Chief Operations Officer, and most recently as Chief Programme Officer in 2016. Britt will explain how Kindred Group aims to provide a safe and enjoyable experience to their customers and will give an overview of their overall CSR strategy. Read more here



Andy Rose – Chelsea FC

Andy has worked for Chelsea FC Foundation for 5 years. He has been coaching disability football for 9 years and has been working with disabled children for 19 years. Andy will present Chelsea FC Foundation’s Disability Inclusion programme, which enables young people and adults with any disability to participate in regular, organised football matches and coaching sessions in a safe and enjoyable environment. Ute Haller-Block – EACEA

Ute is Head of the Erasmus+ Youth & Sports unit. She is currently responsible for the implementation of the Sports action, as well as a number of Youth actions, European Solidarity Corps and EU Aid Volunteer programmes. Ute will present Erasmus+ Funding opportunities for Sport, which is an overview of Erasmus+ programme with a specific focus on the Sport Chapter. Andy Gould & Danny Bisland – Scottish Football Association

Andy is Head of Football Development at the SFA, while Danny is SFA’s National Club Grow Manager, where he is responsible for encouraging the growth and development of Scottish football clubs. Within the Association and at clubs, Andy and Danny have both worked for over 20 years in Scottish Football in a variety of roles. They both firmly believe in the power of football and sport to help change and save lives. Together Andy and Danny will present Scottish FA’s Para Football Strategy. Read more here


Alex White – Premier League Charitable Fund

Alex is Quality Assurance and Governance Manager at the PLCF which is one of the biggest sports charities in the world. He is also Chairman of Street Child United, an international children’s rights charity which uses the power of sport, specifically international sports events, to change the negative perceptions and treatment of street-connected children everywhere. Alex will present the importance of effective governance and management at professional football club foundations and trusts. Read more here


Carl Southwell – Chelsea FC

Carl is Enterprise Manager for Chelsea FC Foundation. His role is to use the power of sport to provide young people and adults the opportunity to gain the skills, qualifications and competencies for the modern-day workplace. Carl has worked with over 4000 very early stage start-ups/job seekers looking to start their businesses as well as creating a start-up incubator for job seekers with a business idea. Carl will present a practical session called ”Entrepreneurship & Chelsea FC Business Challenge”. Read more here


Jorge Miranda – SL Benfica

Jorge has an extensive experience in social development and since 2010, he is Executive Director of Benfica Foundation where he is responsible for policy design, strategic planning and general management of the organization. Jorge is also CEO and founder of Etnoideia Lda, a private company on Strategic Planning, Rural Development, Social Innovation and Creative Industries.Before that, he was Head of Department in Education and Social Development in Amadora. During his breakout session, Jorge will present the Walking Football programme of SL Benfica. Read more here


Silvia Montes-Jovellar Folch – Real Madrid CF

Silvia is Director of the National Area of the Foundation at Real Madrid Foundation and holds a degree in International Business from the European Business School while specialising in Foundation Management at the University of San Pablo CEU and the Spanish Association of Foundations. During her breakout session, Silvia will provide a general overview of the Foundation’s programs in Spain and around the world. Read more here



Sam Gaskin-Kemp & Matt Mead – Chelsea FC

Sam is Schools Education Manager at Chelsea FC Foundation, where she is responsible for the design, creation and implementation of exciting and innovative schools education programmes. Sam is a passionate educator with an extensive teaching and education portfolio, and is driven to inspire young minds through football and education.


Matt is Head of Education & Innovation for Chelsea FC Foundation. In this role, he is in charge of building a pioneering and innovative staff with dynamic educational programmes such as Chelsea Digital Camps and Digital Blue. The combination between his passion for sports and business, and love for technology led to the creation of STEM programmes in collaboration with well-known brands.

Together Sam and Matt will conduct a breakout session to present their pioneering STEM programme called ”Digital Blue”.


Speaker news imageHenrik Oesau – SV Werder Bremen

Henrik has a bachelor degree in sports, health and prevention, a master degree in sports, organizational development and management and has worked for several years for non-profit organisations while working specifically with refugees in football since 2014. During this breakout session Henrik will present the “Willkommen im Fußball” programme founded in 2015 by the Deutsche Kinder- und Jugendstiftung (DKJS) and DFL Foundation while using the example of Werder Bremen.  Read more here


Jamie Duncanson – Rangers FC

Jamie joined Rangers Charity Foundation in May 2017 after spending 14 years with Glasgow City Councils Education Services department in various roles such as vocational assessor/verifier to employment & skills manager. Jamie will present how Rangers Charity Foundation supports employability for the Hard-To-Reach with a focus on 3 projects the Foundation are currently running. Amy Wilson – CAFE

Amy is CAFE’s Fan Liaison, Access and Administration Officer. She works with disabled supporters, disabled supporters associations, clubs, national associations and governing bodies to improve access and inclusion within football. During her breakout session, Amy will present the value of Disabled Supporters Associations (DSA). Read more here



Tim Coremans – NAC Breda

Tim is Project Coordinator at Teamplay@NAC (the community foundation of NAC Breda) and will present the methodology of the successful NAC Street League project, which has now been running for over 10 years.  The presentation will cover the programs organisational setup, the participants, key stakeholders, program design and its planning, the impact on the local community and how they use NAC Breda to influence Breda’s next generations.  Read more here


Kathryn Albany-Ward – Colour Blind Awareness

Kathryn is the founder of Colour Blind Awareness and will present the organisation, a Community Interest Company formed to raise awareness of the needs of the colour blind in the community. Colour Blind Awareness is currently working with the Football Association, UEFA and Transport for London amongst others, to give greater accessibility of information on colour blindness to the population. Eva Bari & Dani Taylor – Chelsea FC

Eva is currently Head of Safeguarding at Chelsea Football Club, working alongside the Board members to implement a robust safeguarding structure based on legislation, guidance and best practice. Eva is a qualified social worker with frontline social work experience working in the field of looked aftercare, child protection and undertaking specialist assessments on behalf of the local authority and courts.


Dani is currently Safeguarding Manager at Chelsea football Club. She has worked with law enforcement colleagues in preventative education for children and young people around the issues of child exploitation and abuse.

Together, Eva and Dani will present the safeguarding structure at Chelsea FC Foundation, explaining the application of their policies and procedures to provide a safe environment for those engaging with Chelsea FC. Read more here


Tijmen Zonderwijk – MatchWornShirt

Tijmen co-founded MatchWornShirt with his brother having previously worked as a lawyer in Amsterdam, occasionally advising footballers and clubs. Tijmen will present’s online fundraising platform for auctioning off the match worn shirts of the entire playing squad with proceeds going to  clubs foundations, community trusts or designated charities. Jessica Yavitz – Chicago Fire

With more than 15 years of experience in professional sports and the non-profit industry, Jessica currently serves as Vice President of Community Relations/Executive Director for Chicago Fire Soccer Club and Executive Director of Club’s Foundation. Jessica will present the P.L.A.Y.S. Program, which is committed to enhancing the academic performance and development of key social and emotional (SEL) skills of elementary school students through a sports-based curriculum. Lazaros Bachtsevanos & Anastasios Papadopoulos – PAOK FC

Lazaros is a marketing specialist with extensive experience gained from working for 12 years at Adidas, with his last role as a Head of Brand Marketing of South-East Europe, before moving into his current role as PAOK’s Marketing & Commercial Director, where he has been working for the last 6 years.


Anastasios has been working at PAOK for the last 5 years as Marketing Project Manager & CSR Manager and is responsible for the club’s social responsibility. He has previously worked in the Marketing Departments of many international companies like Dell Computers & Xerox before deciding to follow his dream and break into the sports industry.

Together Lazarsos and Anastasios will present the PAOK Action / CSR strategy in the midst of Greece’s Socioeconomic crisis. Read more here


Joanne Tighe – Chelsea FC

Joanne is Senior Chelsea Champions Officer and has been working for Chelsea Foundation for 1 year. She graduated in 2012 in Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University and is now studying a MSc Mental Health and Wellbeing in Education alongside managing Chelsea Champions Programme. During her practical session, Joanne will present Chelsea Champions Programme. Read more here



Peter Gheysen – Club Brugge

Peter is Foundation Manager at one of Belgian football’s major clubs, Club Brugge and is responsible for the CSR policy, strategic planning and general management of the projects of Club Brugge Foundation. Peter will present “Start to Run @Club Brugge” which is a training programme that focuses on both starting runners and already advanced runners. Gary Hocknull – Hibernian FC

With over 10 years of Football Development work Gary is Football Development Manager at Hibernian Community Foundation and currently responsible for all Hibernian Community Football programmes and projects. He will present Young Volunteers Conference and ViP Programme, which supports enthusiastic young people to develop leadership skills such as organisation, communication and teamwork, as well as increase their confidence and self-esteem.  Read more here


Carina O’Brien & Derek O’Neil – Football Association of Ireland

Carina is Coordinator of Bohemian Football Club “More than a Club” project. She has 15 years of extensive and wide-ranging work experience in the community development sector and has worked on large European projects as well as more localised youth services. Carina holds a Masters Degree in Local Development and Innovation from Trinity College in Dublin.

Derek has worked with Football Association of Ireland since 2002 and is currently Project Manager overseeing the EU funded “More than a Club” project. He is a former part-time professional footballer and has a Masters Degree in Management (Innovation in Social Enterprise) from Dublin City University and a Diploma in Sports Management from University College Dublin as well as being a UEFA A Coaching license.

Together they will be presenting “More Than A Club” Bohemian F.C programme which aims to show how smaller clubs can start and develop a self-sustaining community engagement model. Read more here
