This was the 1st day of EFDN’s Making Football Matter Conference in Athens!
Our first day of the EFDN ‘Making Football Matter’ Conference in Athens started with the Leagues and FA’s meeting. In the OPAP Arena’s pressroom, the present organisations network shared insights and strategies on the current challenges in the world of ESG and FSR in Football.
Caj Sohal opened the event, setting the tone for a day focused on Reporting, Gender Equality, ESG, and FSR. Notable speakers included Jan Willem van der Roest (Utrecht University), Matt Pounder (Premier League), Lin Wilson (Uphsot), Nicky Reid (SPFL Trust), Thij van Aalst, Manuel Meneses-Namihira (GRI), and Andy Snell (EFL Trust). Discussions centered on transparency, inclusivity, sustainability, and the positive impact of football on communities. The conference promises more engaging discussions in the coming days.
The Making Football Matter Conference concluded with an amazing rooftop dinner at the Wyndham Grand Hotel. Against the backdrop of the enlightened Acropolis, attendees enjoyed an evening of networking, informal discussions and great food.
