Jan-Willem van der Roest – Speaker at the 20th EFDN Conference

Jan-Willem van der Roest, Assistant professor & Academic consultant at the University of Utrecht, is a confirmed speaker at our 20th EFDN ‘Making Football Matter’ Conference in Athens from the 13th until the 15th of November 2023.

Jan-Willem van der Roest works as an academic advisor and assistant professor at the Department of Administrative and Organizational Science (USBO) at Utrecht University. Jan-Willem has specialized in the social value of elite sports in general and professional football in particular. Examples of these themes are research into the elite sports climate in the Netherlands and CSR in professional football. Jan-Willem is active as a consultant at USBO Advice, where he applies scientific insights to the sports world. In recent years, Jan-Willem has carried out assignments for NOC*NSF, the Eredivisie and the Johan Cruyff Foundation.

In the session, Jan-Willem will delve deeper into the needs and insights on the More than Football Networks framework. He will discusss the current state of ESG in European football and let’s the participants discover what is needed to bring ESG in European football even further. Finally, he will share best practices on ESG and public value creation in football.
