Sam Dainty & Rachel Clarkson – Speakers at the 20th EFDN Conference

Sam Dainty, Head of Partnerships and Rachel Clarkson, Head of Communications at City in the Community, are confirmed speakers at our 20th EFDN ‘Making Football Matter’ Conference in Athens from the 13th until the 15th of November 2023.

Sam was previously an experienced educational senior leader, since transitioned into the football charity sector. As Head of Partnerships and Fundraising, he is responsible for forging strong and authentic partnerships with brands, public sector organisations and ultimately engaging them and supporters in generating income into the charity. This includes corporate partnerships, campaigns, events and various levels of stakeholder management.

Rachel is an experienced communications professional with a history of working in the sports industry, primarly focused on CSR departments. As Head of Communications for Manchester City’s charity, she is now responsible for the communications team, including the development and delivery of strategy to successfully meet all KPIs, targets, objectives and budgets. Previous roles include Manchester City (Club), Everton Football Club and Rangers FC (Charity Foundation).

As newcomers to the EFDN network, they will be introducing Manchester City’s charity to the group. This will include an overview of their current three year strategy, including their purpose, approach and values. City in the Community’s Head of Communications and Head of Partnerships will also be overviewing how the charity strategises across both departments, including how they were able to leverage the Club’s treble winning moment. If time allows, they will also explain how City in the Community Manchester sits within a global framework.
